I welded a couple tabs to the round tube cross member and used a piece of 1 inch square tubing across the inner frame braces and spare tire mount locations for the straps. A quick rattle can paint job and Bob's yer uncle. Ping me off line if you need better shots of the strap mounting locations.
Note: My rear cross member was in pretty bad shape, so I cut it (and 12 inches of the frame) out. This means that your application may look a little different, but the space for the tank is the same.
Coeman, hopefully this picture will help with the bumper side view. It was a quickie fab project before a wheeling trip to Colorado in 2012 that has yet to be replaced. A couple scraps of 1.75 inch DOM and a few left over plates.
