I've been holding on to this for someone who would like to sell it. Good condition, no gas cap, sender is included and works but float is bad. This only fits the hardtop FJ25. He would like $100 for it.
Fuel tank for hardtop.

Hi Nick, Yep the soft top tank in the picture above is a spare. I'm going to take a look at mine, and clean and line the best of the two, so if you need one you're first in line. 
Same deal on the sender, works but the brass float is cracked, and no gas cap.

Hey Jim-I think the HT 25 tank is the same as the pre 69 40 tanks, increases your market a bit...the filler neck is unique to the 25 HT and the earliest 40s as far as I can tell, our 61 FST 40 has the large filler and gas cap, the 62 does not...that said, I'd be interested in the sender-Phil

Just learned that this morning....the filler neck is the FJ25 unique piece, tank isn't.....can't part it out, not mine. Since I know the tank fits other stuff, I'm sending it back to him.
I'll take a look for a sender, probably have a good one......but no float.

I think I'm going to change my mind...I just pulled the tank from the 25 hardtop I'm parting, and the tank itself has the same dimensions as the soft top tank, just different filler necks. The trans cover is the determining factor...the 25 tank (hard or softop) has to be narrower than the 40 tank because of the width of the cover, the early 40 covers are narrower towards the aft allowing a wider tank...
So, a 25ht tank will fit an early 40 with room to spare, change the soldered on neck and it should fit a 25fst......I think for now maybe

Just following up on this... I'll be at CMCC in a week if you've found an extra soft top style tank/filler neck in your horde. $$? Need anything in trade? Other than unobtainium I don't have...

Nick, you were first in line. I'll PM you about a trade. From memory it may have a dent in the filler neck that you'll have to lift out and there may not be a cool drop tube extension. Do you need a filler neck opening or I think you have one?

Filler neck openning? If that's what the filler neck bolts to on the tub then I'm set there. If it's something else then I'll need some translation/clarification to answer your question.
