Hallo Mates:

question on the Fuel Separator - that sits inside the rear pass wheel well in front of fuel filler neck

I just replaced the fuel connector 77209.60040 - this piece bolts to bottom of inner rear wheel well - has 5 nipples for fuel lines

OK - the one I replaced was rusty - was able to match all the fuel lines EXCEPT to line from top of Separator - the single line comes off the top - near top mounting bolts - split in line is a plastic valve WHITE - looks like a vacuum dashpot - - plugs into a single nipple - not in line with any of the others - sort of above the lines that plug into the fuel tank lines -

the one I replaced - this nipple on the underside / exposed to underbelly of truck - broke off -
dunno where it should connect to outside - as to the inside nipple attaches to this single line /valve to top of separator

Anyone have any ideas?

cheers:

Have a look at the diagram on page 31 of this link ,it gives a clue on how the fuel lines are arranged. It takes a few minutes to open

Im pretty sure the 60 and 70 diesels are the same in this regard

hallo roscoe:

Thanks for the PDF manual - is for 70 series

I need for 60 series - the separator is compeletly different and no connector

cheers ya :

Rosco, thanks for that link.

The 60 and the 70 don't have the same fuel lines, most notably are the differences in the vapor separator.

on the same web site that Rosco sent us to is also a 60 series FSM. look here http://repairmanual.free.fr/serie6_carros.pdf on page 33 for the details on the 60 series.
