Hi All

First thing first; thank you to this fourm for all the helpful threads i have used to get to this point in my build.

k so. I have just semi rebuilt my 3b. Parts fix/replaced include:

-rod bearings
-sanded BAD crank shaft damage smooth
-replaced 2 pistons with spare ones (damaged)
-brand new bosch glow plugs 24v with 24v battery system
-primer pump was missing plastic valve wich i replaced with spare
-new head gasket
-new oil filter
-new oil (doi)
-new batteries
-fixed return line (tyvm fourms)
-new pre cups

so the problem:

When i first rebuilt it till now i had one good 5min run then it ran out of fuel (had priming issues for a while) and about 5-6 poor 30sec - 1min runs. Fixed the primer pump and got it primed up and now it wont start (this would probs be the most pressure it has seen).

Trouble shooting steps taken:

-cracked injectors to see if fuel came out and it does splurt out
-torrents of fuel comes out of the bleeder nipple
-check primer pump with spar and is fine (bosch branded both times)
-return line was issue but ran a soft line and does not leak
-got a hand pump from tank to currently faulty electric primer.
-checked to see if the glow plugs get voltage and they do 24v+ have also ran a straight positive line to glow it before starting and to check voltage.
-have fully charged both batteries to the same level.

Other notes:

-does produce exhaust (blue if i had to give a color) so good compression??
-around the glow plugs feel cold (dont know if its supposed to feel warm normally) they are brand new.
-does not want to fire in the slightest!!
-HAVE NOt REPLACE FUEL FILTER YET.
-Currently Australia QLD winter. so low 20s c

any help would be great. I think it might be a clog of some sort but waiting for filter to arrive now. 3 days looking over the engine and i got nothing at this point. Also scared that the glow plugs may have died but doubt that. have not checked them yet.

Thanks all.

PS. This is a Diahatsu Delta v48 5700gvm single cap tray if u were curious.

Do you have an Edic for this motor? Can not recall. If so check it. Also, does this have a low oil pressure cut off switch? Pls check that.

Sorry these are things I look at on 2H motors. Might have some similarities.

So the previous ower of this truck DID NOT look after it. The EDIC arm has been disconected for a manual pull wire thingy. Also i have no idea where the oil pressure cut off switch is (if it has one). I can say that when the truck was running the oil light would go out :D. safe to say it is not the EDIC unless it controls more then the fuel cut off arm.

Do you know if Edic is in the run position? Google is your friend. Search.
