Needed to replace my alternator so I took off some of the hoses associated with the smog system (air pump + ASV hoses) in order to remove the smog pump and get the alternator out. When I removed one of the hoses going to the ASV, it was wet inside and fuel dripped out.

I briefly moved the car from the driveway to the side of the house (cold start + ran for 30s).

Is this expected?

Well there's really no way for fuel to get into that component. I would guess your checkvalve at the air injection rail leaks a bit, and some exhaust gasses are migrating backwards into the valve.
That's what I thought. Didn't see any fuel path
