Just read this thread through a search because I'm feeling like Chicago did over 2 years ago. Gotta get me a couple bolts and swing the hammer a little harder!!!!
Chicago, your rants were great!!!

I found that the bolts that hold the LSPV to the rear axle are the perfect size to remove the drums. If you're a little smarter than I am, take one off the LSPV bracket and get a couple that are about 1/2 inch longer from the local hardware store. Douse the holes with PB before threading them in. Bang the snot out of the face and sides of the drum with your "Ford wrench" to loosen it up.

Thanks for the PM Phil!
I answered my own question on the LSPV......although the drums are still where they have been for the last decade or more!

I just 'borrowed' a few from the battery clamp apparatus. The worked perfect.

Once i got the drums off, I drilled and tapped them 1/2 20, so next time there will be no sloppy bolt fit. The pass side was loose enough i had to use a bolt that was over sized and cross thread to get a bite.

You'd kick his ass!! (I'm a Packer fan)
Plus I'd bet he ain't cool enough to know s*** about wrenchin!!

What Chicago didn't tell y'all, is that he just finally got mad and pulled the drums off bare-handed!

btw, anyone know the thread pitch of the 8mm bolts that thread into the drum ??

I spent way too much time on that same question. I bought different size bolts and none fit right. A 8x1.25 fit some what loose on the driverside, but fit good enough to remove the drum. The same bolt, I could wiggle in to bottom out with out even turning the bolt on the pass side. So to remove the pass I purposely cross threaded then drill and tapped 1/2 20 once I got it off. I believe the thread is suppose to be 8x1.25 but my PO boogered mine up.

Thanks, Gappy

Save me some time having to hunt for 'em.

Off to Napa.

The 8 x 1.25 is what I picked up, but it obviously hadnt worked for me. I still have em in my bolt bin that I carry in the rig.

AMEN to the BFH!
