Can these canvas skins be spray painted and if so any particular type of paint like Kraylon, etc? Thanks🇺🇸

From the mid 1960s Toyota used vinyl not canvas. Bought a Kayline replacement top over thirty years ago it came with vinyl.

Probably could paint with the correct type of paint guessing would prefer to paint rather than removing weatherstripping and small screws to remove the channel to replace the door skins. I can understand why.

Anything ment for plastic … use adhesion promoter

Will need to be clean as well most likely has oils all over them

Personally I wouldn’t do a primer first

Funny John I still have the kayline blk for a door never used lol

Thanks.. as always!

. JUST finished my 1st door Wx stripping.. jeeez! What a pain😝

I know your pain lol

I just got some channels that I’m going to make into lower channel (thanks @tahoe40/45 !!!)

They are going to work out great !

Will be removing the ws to change over the lower channel and then fight to put it back

Your doors look good

If your planning on driving it in rain I do suggest (at some point) getting the hard door outside window sweep it will prevent a bit of water from coming in

Just curious on how wipe attaches to the door window ledge? Also, does the vinyl skins have threads like these at one of the holes in one of my doors? your door skin looks nice and thick...mine are thin....very thin....thanks!

It uses the window inner top felt swipe that pushes in with the integrated metal locks … pull it off and make holes in rubber swipe to match the metal push locks … then put beteeen door and metal inner felt swipe

It’s tight to get on but works well

Mine is not thick at all … very thin … it is Sunbrella marine canvas … lasts a long time …. Been on for 12 years

Yours is vinyl over denim … it is not too bad until it drys and starts to crack … you could put a patch on inside with an adhesive then sew from outside/ in

Thanks.. copy that on removing the felt strip ..and also you explained the fibers and that makes sense.. I ordered some vinyl glue.. btw.. I FINISHED my wx stripping on the 2nd door!!! Jeeez!! At my age.. that’s the last time!! As always Thanks Guy🇺🇸🇺🇸

Hope you can tell from these pics … it is essentially sandwiched in between the metal felt inner and the door … just need new holes to push the metal snap prongs through and into the door frame

Hope that makes sense
