Hi all!

Starter in my 2008 LX570 decided it was retiring yesterday at Costco with a backseat full of kids and cold food :-\ (Despite being caught in the act of being a "grocery getter" the truck does get a lot of time on forest roads).

Anyway, this isn't my first rodeo and I'm taking on the job myself. Everything has been pretty similar to the Sequoia/tundra processes but I have run into some different bolts and brackets so I thought I would check here to see if anyone has the FSM pages outlining the removal.

In the meantime, I'll be sticking more pins in my Toyota Engineer VooDoo doll for making it necessary to remove the exhaust manifold to change out a starter..

Thanks Tony,

I have the exhaust off but there doesn't seem to be a way to get the starter heat shield off without removing the manifold. It could be moved a bit more aggressively, but I don't want to sacrifice the shield. Last thing I want to do is this process again because of a starter that got degraded.

Thanks for your ideas though!

here you go, hope it helps.

Rich,

Thanks so much for taking the time to get these over! It is truly appreciated! I'll report back with progress/war stories.
