I am trying to find an FSM for my '96 TLC. My local dealer told me that there were two of them, one for the power train and one for CEL codes and such at $125 each. I went to the Toyota owners site and they only show one manual for $81.63, publication #RM451 from the Materials Distribution Center. Is there anyone out there that can confirm the pub #? C-Dan? Anyone?

Thanks, Gene

Call the MDC and purchase it direct. The 00400-RM451 is the repair manual and you may want to add the EWD (electrical wiring diagram) to your shopping list.

How about the Trans manual RM479? Oh and thanks Dan. The local dealer had me a little confused and in shock about the price. $250!!!

Thanks again, Gene

The transmission manual is a good read but is only necessary for over-haul.

I just ordered both manuals. Are there any special tools needed to test the Modulator and EGR, vaccum test device, etc? The modulator was clean. Looked almost new in fact.

Let me guess.... P0401 ?

The FSM specifies a vacuum gauge for testing the EGR system.

You got it. I just reset it again.

Thanks B,
