King shocks

I dont beleive you ordered them from us, so not sure but I'm assuming you got the 25001-258 rear shocks? We have slightly tweaked specs. but if you have the 25001-258 you have a couple options. You can remove hose and make it a piggyback, or I actually welded tabs to the rear body mount just in front of the rear wheel well. Gives easy access to resi, but still very protected. Also keeps hoses and resi's away from exhaust.

I havent put mine on yet, can you post pics of how you mounted the rear reserviors. They gave me weld on mounts but im leaning toward buying the Polyurethane mounts to mount them to the shock directly. If you have any more pics of where you placed the reservior mounts for the front (where you drilled/placement), that would be great.

im installing my shocks today along with UCA , running into a couple snags, im getting minimal rubbing on the hose to the resi from the tires on full turn. Im running oem wheels with 295 bfg AT. any sugestions? Jon how about you. RTH

Fab a little bracket from steel angle and tack it to the front control arm bracket like here. I ran into tire clearance issues with the remote can installed parallel to the frame.

Everything is installed, definitely a better ride... then the tire hit the Resi itself. The rubbing was more than minimal, luckily no damage. I think I may just mount them vertically. Any issues at all with it set up this way Spress, especially with the wheel stuffed?

No issues whatsoever. And the two band clamps come off lickyeesplit when you need to rebuild/recharge nitrogen.

you know, i can accept the hoses rubbing, but the resi themselves? Im going to call King tomorrow and find out...who know maybe i installed these wrong...will post pics in the AM.

reservoir

Its just a reservoir bracket. The one that comes with the King's is nice but is in the way if you have wide tires and no wheel spacers. I run 1" so no issue for me. You will gain a lot of clearance if you simply mount them vertically. This is easy, and poses no problem. Attached is a pic of how I have the kings, and also another with resi's mounted vertically

Spent the morning at King with the guy who actually did the fab work for the 100, they were very helpful. He did actually do his best to tuck it in as far as they go all things OEM, assuming we run the recomended tire size: aka tire shops (we all know our trucks can fit bigger). He even pulled the truck in back to work on it himself. I think I will end up mounting these vertically, Im glad i went over there, now i have another fabricator/mechanic to do work on the truck if need be. great customer service.

I am kind of interested in this setup for my 100 but it is really spendy. Do you feel that it really made that much difference in the capabilities of your rig? I see this becoming a future mod on my rig if the performance gained justifies the expense.

Capabilities are subjective, relative to your rig and the kind of wheeling you do. For some, the OME shocks are just find (ie, Shotts...you couldn't pry those N74L's away from him with a 10 ft. crowbar ;)). He does alot of technical crawling type stuff where maximum articulation/travel is needed.

Others like the higher speed desert running/washboard road type of stuff, which quickly overheats and wears out the OME shocks. So, again, the best answer is "it depends".

There are several threads on the pros/cons of OEM vs OME vs Fox vs King. Just gotta do a little digging.

I wanted a good mix of both and the reliability/re-buildable aspect of it. I have never crawled and dont plan on gettin into anything hardcore, if i did i would have went SAS. Only experience i have is with pre-runners, i do tend to drive fast, love going to ocotillo and running down the washboard. For me the ride is 100x better, when i get this mounting issue resolved i plan on trying it out on hungry valleys rock garden then ill let you know.
