I don't plan on lifiting my pig and I actually prefer it low. So it has very flexy springs right now and runs a stock tower on the ps side, and an IPOR power steering mount tower on the ds. Now the front springs have enough travel that you cannot fit a shock into the stock position. With a factory shock or stock length shock, I have ripped out both front shocks and destroyed another pair. I have the rear set up how I want with bilsteins now, but the front is a different story.
I'm trying to figure out what to do for new shock mounts in a relatively stock configuration. I'm keeping my ps mount but plan on either butchering it or butchering it and welding the new mount to it. If I extend the upper mount 3 inches I can get the travel needed for full compression/rebound stroke while getting rid of that silly pin mount shock.
Does anyone have suggestions and pics of front shock mounts used to replace stock? I've seen the ford towers, but only on a 40. I also was looking at sky's hoops, but also never seen them on a 55. What about the lower mounts that I need to redo anyways? And while I'm at it is it best to very slighty forward angle the shocks too for front shackles?
