Front Heater Core / 86 FJ60

well the dreaded event appears to have arrived....the other day I drove the 60 around one hot afternoon for a good bit through some power-line right-of-way...

Got home...no issues.

A day or two ago I go out to get something out of the 60 and I see green in the floorboard... (currently I don't have carpet)...

So...I'm trying to get motivated to start the tear down to get at the heater core.

anyone else have the fun of swapping out the heater core on a 60 in recent times? Any lessons learned...?

bypassed the heater core so I could clean it up and still have it drivable. Glad I previously took out the carpet...I had coolant everywhere in the left and right floorboard. Got most of that cleaned up and will use some of my "fee" Fridays to work on this junk. I've got to order a couple more things and I'll be ready to tear into the dash after the heater core itself.
