Guys, I have been searching for an old thread that had a picture of a front coil over conversion on a 100 series. If it was not a 100 series then it was at least posted in this 100 series section. It may have been a Camburg custom set up, but not sure. It showed pictures of the engine bay with the custom shock upper towers. If you have the link to that old thread it would really help me. I have been asked by a local maufacturer/fabrication shop for some ideas, and wanted to pass this along. (Not for me, in case you are wondering) Thanks in advance for your help.

I had not seen either of these posts so thank you for the info. Unfortunately, what I was trying to find was a post that had pictures of a completely redisigned upper shock tower. (picture was of engine bay) It was probably a racing conversion for a Dakar Rally truck. The guys in Europe are crazy for that stuff.

I live in Southern CA and am surrounded by most of the major desert racing shock and suspension manufacturers. I have been contacted by one that has asked to borrower my truck for R&D work on imporovements to the IFS front end suspension. This company has been doing one off stuff for the Euro, Africa, and Aussie markets so next week when they have the truck, they want to also look into what it would take to do a long arm coil over conversion that would add some travel and get rid of the torsion bars. As everyone knows it is VERY difficult and costly to do this right. This is one of the most respected companies out there so we will see what they say about it.

Thanks jgray, and ckkone for posting these pictures, I hope someone knows which post I saw and can help.

I'll take my fenders off for that to happen....well most of the right one at least.

Ask hoser, he found a ton of custom 100 front setups when we were chatting about it.

Was it this one from the hdj100 swap thread?

Toyota HDJ 100 - HAKKEN RAID
The Hakken Raid thread is a good one but not the photo I had seen. I appreciate the ideas, and will keep looking for that picture I saw. I think it was in one of the many shock/travel threads. Any more ideas would be appreciated.

I will also write up the notes after my truck gets back from the fabricator. Thanks

I would tell them to look at the 2nd gen Tundra/200 Series LC for ideas. The Tundra/200 suspension is pretty much the coil sprung 2nd generation of the 100 series torsion bar system. The geometry of the two systems is quite similar.

Yep, the new 200 is the inspiration. These guys are one of the leaders in the Toyota Suspension Kit space and know it well. They did not ask for pictures, I just thought I could send them some pictures of a few custom jobs on a 100 that they may not have seen before. I will let you know how it goes.

Do any of the other Toyota trucks share the lc spindles? Like everything else I am sure it does not, but hey, worth a shot.
