Location is 100 mi N, and E of Sacramento, on the side of a mountain at the edge of a forest, and under the Lassen volcano. (Some of these geographic features are more desireable than others...)

In fact, just less than 500 yards from this spot, there is a 2000+ ft drop into the Feather River Canyon where one of the many tributaries of our local "babbling brook" passes through...
