Does steel come in the same shape at the frame? Can the hump part of the frame that is normally for axle movment be replaced ? severe corrosion near the front shackle at the front spring

Just this kit for rear, as far as I know. C-Channel Kit 60 Series Sounds like you need a welder.

BTW, this "rustybucket" just came off my truck.

This is why my "60 sits in the garage, and wifey's Lexus is parked outside in the weather! Banished!

I do consider my self handy...lol. As I am an Aircraft Mech. But this job is one of the toughest I have done on my cruiser. I did it ten years ago. It still haunts me.

Grinder, torch, punches etc. I tried it all and it still sucked. If I could give any advice it's be careful. There is a fuel tank above your head!

Good time to drop the tank
If you can justify the effort, getting the tank out will improve your life during the rivet bashing process. You can actually sit up instead of being on your back all the time.

Yes, plus my fenders are shot, but rear wheel wells are fine. Go figure. C-Channels needed some help though.
yea..are you repairing? I wonder if it would be less work to just cut out the inner wheel well at the floor then offset bend the metal and over or underlap the floor and spot weld vs drilling out 50 spot welds on the inner and outter wheel wells?

Dunno, but it sure sounds easier. My bad area was behind the humped part of the frame, around the spring hangar on the driver's side. I think the PO drove around with a rotten exhaust for awhile. I hired a local heavy equipment mechanic/welder to go at it. He used a pneumatic rotating wire broom like tool to get rid of the rusty inner channel, then welded in a plate and built up the hangar.
Other side much better. I've since treated it all with phosphoric acid and POR-15.
