Four eyes of fire - headlight and harness upgrade on my 62

I've ordered these: Amazon.com: 2 Sets 4PC of 4x6 H4651/H4652/H4656/H4666 Projector Headlights + 6000K White H4-2 Single Xenon Slim HID: Automotive

and these: Amazon.com: Innovited AC 55W HID Xenon Conversion Kit With "Slim" ballast - H4-3 9003 - 6000K Bi xenon HI/LO HID - 2 Bulbs & 2 Ballasts: Automotive

and will have my local aftermarket car guy install them next week. He is already familiar with these Toyota electrical systems (i.e. polarity issues, upgraded harness, bla bla bla...) I'll post pictures of before and after with night shots so I/we can compare the light output difference. The Maxxima LEDs were just too expensive for me to stomach at $160 PER light... I will be out right around $350 installed on a light set-up that I can always swap bulbs should I ever want to change due to wear or color temperature.

I'll be curious about how those are when you get them installed. I'm in desperate need of upgrading my lights as well.

Link to the lights. You'd need both high and low beams.

Amazon.com: Maxxima (MHL-4X6LL) 4" x 6" Low Beam LED Headlamp: Automotive

Here are a few pictures. I'm happy with the lows but because they cut off when high beams are engaged it's not very useful in high beams. I don't use highs much and have some aux driving lights I can engage so isn't a huge deal.

The clear lenses I ordered from Japan. I'll see if I can find the site (if even still available). It was pretty sketch but it worked out, I think it was maybe one you had to translate to English.

EDIT: this isn't the site I used but these look to be the same ones (they also have clear rear lenses):
Self Trading Rakuten Ichiba-Shop | Rakuten Global Market: ■60 Land Cruiser ■Clear Front Turn Signal Lights ■

Also, here is the original thread that gave me the idea, I think one of the links is where I ordered from.
clear front indicator lens fj62?

Here is a better pic after a few upgrades.

Some one here may be able to help i instaled h4 semi sealed as the standard sealed beams weren't available at the time. My issue is this negative switching i believe? The lights work fine but the high beams come when low beam are on but very dim then when i put high beam on the outter go dim. Seems like an earth issue.

one thing I read in a different Fj62 headlight thread, that I'd tend to agree with is snow build-up. Living in the mountains of Colorado that is a very real concern for me. My LED light bars, even when on, will cover over with snow as LEDs produce very little heat. I notice that my low beams stay clear of snow because the heat from the lamp keeps it melted. The high beams will cover over with snow if they are not on....since my headlights sucks pretty bad these days I typically just run both my low & high beams at the same time to prevent snow accumulation. I don't get an on-coming track that flashes me...

My aftermarket vehicle guy is installed these late next week. I'll post up more pics.

This is not a direct comparison, but I tried LED's headlights in my 60. I went back to Hella halogens due to glare in rain, fog and snow, and due to snow buildup due to lack of any heat generated by the lamps.

What is the size of these lights? They look bigger than stock in the picture, will be interested to how this install goes.

the photo is a bit deceiving as the new light was in the foreground. They are 4x6 housings and do drop directly in. Funny enough I'm actually at the auto shop having them installed as I write this email. Working through the finicky relay workaround that Toyota managed to install to make all of our lives interesting.... I'll post pics when its done.

I used the ipf m002 harness and it worked perfect:) undecided if ill get the m004 to do just the high beam or not. As i have a light bar and low beam is my main isssue. Was considering buying another m002 and installing it through the other side light 3 prong and making it quad low and high.
