Good Day ih8mud,

Looking for some help obtaining wiring diagrams for my newly acquired foreign market 1fz-fe M/T ECU. I believe this is out of a general market and/or Australian market fzj80 with a manual transmission.

I have already obtained RM184E via an Australian website, but this only covers the FJ80.

Does anyone on here know whice FSM contains wiring diagrams for the ECU? Possibly its available from Dave @ Japan 4x4, but I have no chance with out the correct RM number.

Cheers

You're going to need to post the year model you're looking for. RM184E is a 1990 Chassis & Body FSM (you already know that), and will not cover the 1FZ-FE engine. 1990-1992 (domestic) models were equipped with 3F engines. 1993-1997 (domestic) models had 1FZ-FE engines. Diesels were available elsewhere, of course. I don't know of anyone domestic, 80 series manual transmissions, maybe @cruiserdan does.

The early manuals for Chassis & Body and Engine were separate. The later ones were integrated; don't quote me, but I believe after the 1FZ-FE engine.

You ask a good question though. I've never seen a complete listing of 80 series manuals, with publication numbers and titles. I have some, but not every one. If anyone has such a listing, it would be a great sticky. (hint, hint)

I have the RM you need in .pdf form. PM me your email address and I can get you the M/T HZJ/FZJ80 EWD. It is a separate book.

PM sent. Thanks Beno. Any chance of getting this posted in the 80 Series FAQ? I'm not sure how many people out there could benefit from them, but there has to be someone who is interested in a h151 swap.

Thanks for that, hopefully it will be useful for someone on the forum. The only problem I see is that on the diagram posted, it indicates that there are 4 plugs on the ECU. Looking at the picture of the ECU I posted it has only 3 plugs.

I believe this would have been found in a 1993-1995 FZJ80 produced for the General Market.

Yes I see your dilemma. Yours is missing the E12 connector :( I thought this was the go to EWD for overseas markets. Finding the pre 1996 supplement could be difficult. (as you are finding) Good luck, I'd love to see what you do with the swap/repinning ECU.

I assume you are attempting to do the swap without throwing codes?

I am collecting the parts as we speak. I already have got a nice little box from Dave @ Japan 4x4 for the clutch stuff. Currently working away on the spinning bits, they are much more expensive.

I want to see if I can wire it up so all sub systems function as they should. Hoping to be rolling by spring/summer 2018 on this project. I figure if I do tons of homework up front I can avoid almost all the surprises that usually suck down lots of time.

Maybe i'll try my local toyota dealer, i'm sure they can help me out ;)

Well I finally obtained these pinout diagrams from a CD-Rom that just arrived from Australia. They were hidden in RM321E. I still have not been able to get my hands on a copy of EWD169F, but there is evidence that they have been previously sold on ebay in europe.

Might it be possible for someone to confirm these pinout diagrams? At least the number of pins in each connector match the ECU pictured above.

Thank you.
Where did you find this?
