That system was developed for mining and exploration and when I sow that first time more then ten years ago on Discovery channel (Extreme Machine) it was tested on 80 series. I remember the cost of it was 15k not a 26k or 36k

Lots of people run those up here on quads, seen them on small 1 ton drill trucks, and even saw one on a huge tractor. Those things are pretty amazing, it's crazy how they can make things float even in soft powder. The work well in the muskeg too. They are definately on my to get list once I get rich:D

For that money your better off searching for an old Tucker. Last one I saw was at Mount Currie a long time ago. A friend and I were thinking of buying it to start up a snow cat skiing business.

They weigh a ton so there is no floating on snow but man those things could climb any snow covered slope. We use to run one at the ski hill I worked at. The new snow cats are around $100,000 and they float on snow. Probably could find used ones for quite a bit less.

hehe nice cat i actually am a groomer at a ski hill in north van and the new cats are worth over 225000

The Tucker we ran was just like this one except it had a plow on the front to break down the mogules and we towed a cement filled big culvert pipe behind. You younger guys are spoiled. When I started skiing our gromming equiptment consisted of manual packing on skis, a double track skidoo and a another cement culvert on long-line cable. The winch ran on a cart attached to rails at the top of the hill for packing down the main run. It was set-up by a logger who was a pro at long lining rigs in the bush.

Just like a new 200 series Land Cuiser will run over $100,000 why bother when you can get a mint 80 series for less than $8000. Check out some of these toys up for sale: List of used That Snow Cat Tours rig at the bottom for $5000 could make for some cool winter fun for the fraction of the cost of MatTracks. :)
