There is a white triple locked 1993 80 series located at Dons car crushing in Ladson. I purchased an ARB bumper from the now ex-owner but he had the bumper removed from the cruiser and had already taken the cruiser to Dons before I could get to all the other goodies :crybaby:

From the craigslist pics (for the ARB bumper) the cruiser looked to be in good condition. Triple locked but has a blown motor. The previous owner (not the guy who sold the ARB and took the 80 to Dons but the one before him) was an old man who drove it back and forth to work about 10 miles each day but never put oil in it supposedly, so he blew up the engine and got rid of it or something like that...

The 80 was dropped off at Dons on Wednesday so it should be ripe for the picking! I don’t have the time or the money (now that its all been used on the bumper) so I wanted to let you guys know as soon as possible. I called Dons and they said they don’t sell whole vehicles outright...Bummer. Also, they are restocking or re-doing their inventory, something along those lines, so normally the car would be there for 30 days but she said they are crushing them at a quicker rate right now with the whole restocking thing going on. Figured someone here who’s close and has the time might want to jump on it ASAP. If so, will you please grab the rear upper hatch for me :hillbilly:

Ps- Dons is open till 4:45 today and tomorrow.

Here’s the only pics of the cruiser - no more ARB bumper tho. And these pics seem pretty recent since this is exactly what the bumper looked like when I picked it up today.

Anybody have an update on this 80 at Don's? I called up there just now and the lady said she cannon confirm or deny that it is there. She stated that she cannot send anyone out to look. I was going to drive down from Columbia tomorrow morning to have a look.

Interesting... I’m assuming that same lady you spoke with was the one who told me that if I called ahead that one of their employees in the yard would be able to let me know if it was still there or not. I still haven’t found time to go back down there but I’ve been thinking about that damn cruiser non-stop and wondered if anybody from MUD had been down there to check it out. Kinda sucks they can’t let you know if it’s still there or not

I think I'm still going to plan on being there when they open. If anybody wants to meet there and needs a hand, I'm happy to help. I really just want to see if the wheels are in good condition and grab the Locker gear.

You mentioned they won't sell the whole truck, so I guess I'll have to get it one piece at a time... Just like the old Johnny Cash song haha

I was in the area today, but didn’t stop by. If I get the opportunity to go by tomorrow, I’ll let you know if I see anything, send pics..... luckily my -80. Is in great condition, and I don’t need anything.... except to sell it.

Actually I meant I'll be there saturday when they open (5/11)

I think it should be there since it was just dropped off last Wednesday...poor guy only got $600 bucks for the whole thing minus the ARB bumper. Some guy offered him $1000 bucks for the whole thing but couldn’t scrounge up the money in time.

As far as the wheels go though, I don’t know about those being on it anymore...may or may not be. The owner did take the tires off which were 285/75/16 bfg AT’s but idk what he did with the wheels. He had the bfg’s for sale on Craigslist but he had mounted them to some gmc wheels or something like that.

Man I’d love to come down there to grab parts but my only day off is Sunday and they would be closed :(

New front DS fender wouldn’t be bad either...since being back home in S.C. the trees have gotten the better of me

People still kicking tires on my TLC, but no one wants to take it out the yard... oh well...

Must save money for Cadillac...stop...stop...stop...dont be teasing me like that

Been a while since I've been on the forum. Divorce, bought a new place here in Mt. P and new job that brought on lots of welcome travel has left my Cruiser sitting by, anywho....

I logged in yesterday and saw the post about the 80 at Don's. Threw on some old pants and boots and hit the road within 5 minutes of seeing the post. I get there and the guy tells me where it's roughly at. I walked the yard for a bit, no dice. Then I saw it, under 3 other s*** box cars, crushed... Just like my hopes. Was a sad sight to see, the body looked to be in great shape rust wise. I was mainly wanting the upper rear hatch and it looked good other than the whole "crushed" thing. They really missed out on some money on that one and it hurt to see an 80 meet its demise that way.

I did manage to pull a nice steering wheel from a '94 Lexus ES300 that I'll swap out for my old worn one. May get around to that tomorrow if it rains.

Damnit I hate to hear that, wonder if anybody was able to get any parts off of it before its unfortunate fate. Wish the previous owner would have posted it on Craigslist instead of just the bumper :( he only got $500 when he took it to Dons :frown:

Craigslist = tire kickers and empty promises... thats how ive been treated when i had my TLC forsale on there...
Todays society wants everything for more then a discount... It will just rot in the yard till someone right comes knocking at the door.

Rummaging around and found a new Denso AC compressor with clutch that I bought last summer, turns out I just needed to replace everything but the compressor

Never got around to sending it back, I believe it was right under $200. Will sell it for $150 if anybody is needing one or a spare. Bought this for my ‘97 80, unsure if it will work on other models.

(Crosses fingers my current compressor doesn’t poop the bed as soon as I let this one go)

That's a good price, I wonder if it's the same as a 62, I know someone who needs one, I'll check.
