WTB: Drivers side (left) FJ40 fender apron. I don't really feel like patching the "snorkle" hole in mine. Does anybody have one lying around that will fit a 1973? Here is a pic showing the epic hole. :-(

Just put a sticker over that hole, or think of something "nifty" to use the hole so it's not an epic hole! :hillbilly: Camera mount or launch tube or put a bottle opener in there.:meh:

I might have one.. but yes, 60/62 should be the same if they didn't upsize the ball joints. I may have sold them with the axles.. LMK if you need me to look.
Kief I'm gonna be OK with what I have, once the kit comes with all the new "joints". Both of those rods were pretty corroded inside and initially I couldn't get the new one close to going in far enough. I took one of the old TRE's and used the dremel with a cutoff wheel to make a series of flutes across the threaded end to turn it into a "cutter". Screwed that in with a bunch of oil and it cleaned all the gunk right out. I sent you a pm Kief.

OK all, I am now on the hunt for a tie rod and maybe the relay rod too! The threads on mine are too shot to get the new ends/joints screwed in sufficiently to work right. :bang:Threads are totally rusted out. :crybaby:So, a used set would need to be in pretty good shape with the threads in fully useable condition. Anyone have anything like that?? I PM'd Kief. I'm also gonna go search a few sites online to see what's out there. Let me know, thanks.

OK- I was searching in the classifieds for "tie rod" and a "tie rod reamer" popped up. I'm assuming this is a "real" tool made for cleaning out problems like mine..??? If so anyone have something like that I can try on my rods to try and save them?? That would be just as welcomed!

I got a friend looking for a 89 or newer Toyota X cab 4x4 with a 4 Cylinder. He's got $5k to spend. There are a couple on Craigslist but for $5k you get a truck with like 300k miles on it. Anyone know of one out there more reasonable?

Its nuts on the used car market right now. I work with guys that take vacations in Mexico and drive rigs down there from here to pay for their trip. Talked to a guy whose friends have him buy rigs up here and then they take them down to Sacramento 'cause they sell for more.

We still see those Toyota multi-car/truck/cruiser caravans headed south. Doesn't make much sense because the best cruisers were in S.A. not the U.S. ??:meh:

Rough roads, heavy loads and a hard working lifestyle means tired trucks. Expensive used is cheaper than new. Our worn out is like new to them.
