That is a beautiful truck. Quality work. I still don't understand why I always see rigs like this- that have obviously been a labor of love for someone- go to the auction house? Must be hard to part with. :meh:

Wow, you don't see many of the 4cyl 4runners out there in those years. Nice rig, why you selling it?

well, we currently have 3 vehicles and the 4runner is a 5 spd which my wife cant drive so that's why we put that one up...we're also in the process of buying a house out here and that would help with those costs. It's not a must sell and I've actually been really hoping that my brother would buy it so that we could keep it in the family but he probably won't be in a position to buy it any time in the near future. we'll see what happens.

1st gen Runner rear bumper w/swing-out tire carrier and receiver for 1.5" b/l rig

Looking to sell my "work in progress" rear bumper, don't really know what it's worth per se. I know I have about 60 bucks in material in it. Basically it was originally meant to replace my OEM bumper I used to lift the rear of my Runner when I was installing my body lift; I warped the stock bumper a little so I made a new, more stouter bumper from 3"x5" stock. Stouter meaning heavier gauge steel, but not by a whole lot for weight reasons. I wanted it to have a factory look, minus the carriage bolts....I designed it so the OEM plastic corner trim mated to it. That being said, it will work with at least a 1.5" body lift. In the name of progress I wanted more, so I welded in some receiver tube. At this point it will tow little more than a hydraulic log splitter as I never got around to adding bracing, and the bumper to frame mounts were originally intended just for a OEM replacement. One thing led to another and I thought swing out tire carriers were cool (and still do) and made one to add to the bumper. The way I designed it, it will accomodate up to a 35" without blocking the receiver or tail light. The hinge is a 3/4" bolt with bronze bushings top and bottom (I was eventually going to get a greaseable bolt) and the latch is a 3/4 hitch pin (in the mounted pic it was an encased OEM slam latch but there was too much slop). The tire carrier was designed so when it was at 90* open there was tailgate clearance. It has the typical bolt pattern for the year and made the tire mount after the Toyota "T"... for giggles. I ran a 31" on it for a few hundred miles; I noticed a little flex which I think could be mostly remedied with one additional brace. For the license plate, I just zip-tied it around the rim, and it'd be nice to run a light to the plate so there's not a reason to get pulled over. Also, the whole works is rattle-canned. As for why it's on the "for sale/trade/wanted", I'd like to sell it to fund my next bumper project, but I have no idea what it's worth. It's not engineered but it's unique. Receiver plug not included. Any interests or thoughts? If nobody here wants it I'll toss it on the list, thanks for looking though....
