Anyone know of a cheap kayak for sale for me to paddle up and down Cahaba occasionally? I was an avid paddler years ago, but want something decent and cheap to kind of get back into it.

If you can live with a cheap canoe I have one. It's rough but its dry. It's bigger than what I want.

I may be interested in such a canoe.

What do you think a 96 FJ80, 231,000 miles, no mods, factory lockers in fairly good condition would be worth? I have found one and don't want to give away the farm or miss an opportunity. Need to find out what would be a fair and resonable price to help me make an offer if it's as described.

All you 80 guru's have got to have some good idea about its value.

In perfect condition I would say as much as 8k maybe 9..
That's with a well known maintenence history.
I'm thinking more like 4k to 5k for a above average one.

I'd say 5000 or so give or take a thousand depending. Pics?

mine is in nearly perfect -knock on wood- shape. as good as i think you can expect for 250k miles. I would take 9k for it as it sits, with the locked axles.

someone told me a bout a maroon 96 locked about 5k i think. 206k miles.

if any of yall that are squirling away your stock springs have easy access so that you could measure them I would be interested in knowing the height of factory 80 coils (front and rear)

I have this to go off of http://www.vehicross.info/modules.php?name=Reviews&file=viewarticle&id=8

if they are close to the same size I want to try them out on the rodeo.

Back in the day I measured a lot of them:

About half way down the page

that picture with the springs side by side, it looks like 4runner springs are about 16" LC look like they are almost 20. if thats right then I wont even bother trying to get those in.

If I can find a freebee set of runner springs ill give them a shot. thanks for that link, I have been trying to figure out all the possible cross overs. I checked and trooper and rodeo springs are the same OME part number, and I have seen people say they put 4runner springs under their trooper so it "should" "'work'"

Page 9 lists all of the color codes and according lengths, they will sag a fair amount-the stock cruiser coils were way softer than the aftermarket OME coils for my 3rd gen 4runner

Been sick Zach so obviously haven't measured my springs if you want my stock 80 springs to trade for whore-runner springs just let
Me know...no pickle in the fight

If there's no record or knowledge of a HG job, then plan on it. And they aren't cheap. Once the HG is done with OEM parts, it'll last ANOTHER 300k more miles.

Nothing a little elbow grease can't make pretty again.
