Hi fellas. I can't believe I'm writing this but I'm def considering selling my excellent condition 97 LX 450 :bang:. Some would say my truck is in mint condition. Currently it has 38200 miles. Yes. This is correct. It has 38200 miles. I bought it about two years ago with 32000 miles and I haven't driven it much. Interior is super clean and flawless. All services done at Toyota. Previous owners were Monks at a Buddhist temple up in El Monte......And so on. And so on.....

Why am I thinking of selling? Well to tell you the truth. I really don't want to sell. (:princess:) (That's the feeler part) BUT.......... I did just have my 2nd child 4 months ago. My home needs a few repairs (roof, balcony, and so on. and so on....) and we as a family do have 3 cars total.

KBB has the vehicle at $16+K. I know most of us on MUD wouldn't pay more than 3+K for a cruiser. This is a one of a kind cruiser. Appealing to a car collector of sorts. Or someone who is going to take pretty much a new truck and do mods. I was just wondering what you guys thought. Or maybe give me some idea as to who would be interested in buying a cruiser in such condition and at such a price. Any thoughts and suggestions good or bad welcomed. Maybe some of you can shed some insight that I may not be considering. Thanks
Al

Wow - I remember when you bought the truck and none of us believed you'd found such a cherry truck with mileage that low! Lockers? It'll be worth more than the averate '97, but premium to $16K I don't know. It's still 15 years old. Good luck!

Thanks for the replies fellas. Again. I'm just trying to get an idea of the consensus out there. If I do decide to sell I guess I can put the truck on CL, Autotrader, or maybe Ebay and see what happens. The last time I saw a truck with low miles was a few years back. Seller had a 96 LX 450 with 62K miles and he was wanting $23K. Not sure if and for what price it sold for. Keep it coming!

It may be a nice rig, but your target market is very small and most everyone in that market wants the lockers and is going to want to wheel it.

Lets be honest. If someone wanted just an SUV, there are lots of better choices out there than an 80 series. If someone wanted just a reliable vehicle, again more economical choices. Someone would have to be looking for this specific truck. And if they wanted a prime example for a collection they would be looking for a 40th or CE.

If you're just fishing for the highest price, put it on craigslist or ebay and try your luck.

To me it's just a great condition 80 with no lockers. I would rather pay $8k for a good condition truck with 130k-ish well maintained miles and put the rest in add-ons.

Ya. I agree. The target market is pretty small. But the target market also knows how unique and rare one of these vehicles is in such condition. I was always under the impression that elockers are good and all. But install some air lockers or even just a rear locker on this thing and its solid. I think most guys here would agree that they would take a low mileage 80 over other factors. Yes there are other (SUVs) vehicles more economical and reliable but they do not have the BAD ASS factor that our 80s have. And we all know how BAD ASS our 80s are.
Thanks for your reply.

Btw. I forgot to add. Even after 15 years. It still has the new car/leather scent.

Let me know what you come up with, im always looking for a rig for Yoshi since we sold her Jeep. This would be perfect and would probably kept stock for now.

Dave. Send me a pm. Let me know whatcha thinking.

Hey Dave. Ya. I have to delete some of my PMs. Ill do it this morning. I still have the "Monk Cruiser" in the garage.

My cousin is looking for a clean low miles 80 so PM me with your best offer and I will pass it his way. He has cash and is just looking for the right deal.

Ya. Lots of people are. Ill send you a PM with the latest offer. This offer is from another mud member. And he asked me again today. And it's not Dave.

I know Dave. I'm most likely gonna keep the truck. Unless I can buy the same truck from a person in my hood. I asked to buy their truck yesterday and they said no. Maybe they'll change their mind and ill sell the "monk cruiser."
