Folks-
Planning ahead for the Cruiser pick up in the Spring. Can anyone recommend a trustworthy flat bed operator to get my truck from the 'burbs of Birmingham AL back to Atlanta safely (and for a reasonable price)?

Thanks in advance!

might check with Dave Larson at teh next meeting, he works for Berger Allied and claims to able to ship anything anywhere.

Some of my NC buddies have used Uship.com with good results

I believe shipping companies bid on the job.
They said if you're flexible be sure to include that because it can affect prices.

Good ideas guys, thanks. I'll have to remember to bring it up at the next meeting.

Posted on Dixie but not much response. Hopefully something will turn up.

ACC uses Dugan's father in law's (Tony) tow service. Tiger Lily towing 404-513-3581. His rates are fair and no BS.

Coincidentally, I got on ACC's page today because I noticed that the FJ55 they brought back from death was complete. Looks amazing, btw. Saw the towing link along with Tony's number so I gave him a call just to get an idea. Great rate for a tow actually. I then called my future bro-in-law (he's known the seller since he was a tyke) and he offered up the owner's truck and trailer for a tow if I throw in gas and beer. Looks like we're good to go on this. Better that he asked than me - wouldn't have gotten far. But it was nice of him to offer. Even more psyched. Guess I'd better focus some of my attention on the wedding now before I get into trouble. :-)

Ha ha - depends on who you're referring to as the pig. :-)

Very excited on both counts, as well as having local resources for advice. What's even better is I got the soon-to-be-new-brother-in-law to volunteer a truck and (enclosed!) trailer for the haul home. Wedding gift perhaps? Very nice of him to offer, regardless. That saves me a lot of grief (not to mention $$$$). Don't worry, his gas and time will be covered.

Does this mean I can become an "official" Georgia Cruisers member or must I still wait until I take delivery?

a tacomoa qualifies, but only barely :flipoff2: and we gotta see the thing get dirty, live. Pay the dues and you're official, don't pay your dues and you're just a cling-on, and I'm not refurring to the star trek kind :grinpimp:

Works for me. I have some spacers and cv joint extenders at home that I need to install on her. Since the OME lift I've been dealing with some bad tire rub up front and that's the only way I'm going to get her on the trail without having issues. Once I have that addressed she's ready for her inaugural Georgia Cruisers run (and mud). :-)

Would you be upset if I joined the CottonLand Cruisers after only being here for 2 months; as I never got around to joining Ga Cruisers after going to meetings for 10 years! HA!
