Flare holes

Last questions pertaining to the tape:
do you put a ~2"x2" sq. over it & leave it sq. or do you trim it round ~1/8" larger than the hole? Trying to figure out how big of a piece I'd use over, say, a 1/2" hole.

Also, do I need to sand where the tape will stick or will it be fine sticking to unsanded paint?

Hardcast foil grip tape, typically 1402, works awesome. You can also apply it to panels for basic sound deadening. I used it in the doors of my 84pu, made a heavy thunk when closing. One of my pet peeves is the sound of yota doors that sound like a beer can hitting the recycling bin. You can also put hvac mastic over it in the doors to help with the weather/moisture from eventually peeling. I'll post a pic or two when I do mine

I've seen it on Mud. Search around for Monstaliner, flare holes, etc.
