Here is what I did. I got an Alpine pwe-s8. It fit right in the cubbie. I did have to move my positive and negative power blocks (from these pictures) forward to still fit the little storage compartment. I ended up taking the compartment out and using a plastic cutting board and I piece of 3/4” plywood as a spacer for making a power port in place of the storage compartment. I had to do no cutting of the rear panel cover so it all still looks original. It give an old guy like me enough bass.

does that sub line up with the grille on the OEM panel?

This looks like a great solution. How did you secure the plywood to the Cruiser?

I mean for the wood where you have the powered sub mounted, not the cutout for the auxiliary power stuff. How is the large off-white board secured to the Cruiser?

I have a bracket I made out of some aluminum strap.

I made a bracket out of some aluminum strap that secures the back of the quarter panel. You can see it just to the upper right of the sub in the second picture. The front just wedged against my sound proofing and that drain hose.
