fj80 oil meter

is it normal for the oil pressure gauge to point at the second line only?
i just recently bought my fj80 and i changed the oil, and realized that the oil gauge
stays low, does that mean i need a new oil pump?
does your fj80 oil gauge point up?

The stock guage in the dash is actually a poor indicator of actual pressure. The only way to find out if you have a problem is to find a real gauge made by a well known company (VDO, Autometer...) and get a numbered psi value at different running temps. I don't know what the lowest acceptable values Mr. T dictates the pressure should be, but the low number is pretty low at idle.

If you think you have very low/ no pressure, a common problem is the front crank bolt coming loose.
