Hello everybody - I recently picked up a '90 FJ70 in really nice condition (1990 FJ70LV-MRV; Engine 3F 3956cc) https://forum.ih8mud.com/70-series-tech/125297-70-series-registry-15.html#post5746617

I'd like to start making a few modifications to turn it into more of an off-roader (not that it's doing bad as-is). As a newbie, I wonder if anyone could recommend the best couple of investments to get started? Maybe a simple question here, but how about starting with some bigger tires? Any suggestions?

Finally - this will seem really dopey - but I need to order an oil filter online so that I can give her some fresh oil (can't say when the last change was). Googling for 'Toyota 3F oil filter' doesn't really help. Can anyone point me to a link with the correct filter?

Cheers everyone, and thanks.

to run bigger tires you would need space to fit 'em first .. that means suspension.

Man-a-free it's a good place to start looking for suspension and getting idea about wha't involved and cost ..

oil filters ..

MAF Oil Filters

but believe you can also source 'em from Napa or something like ..

where are you located . ?

The only oil filter I would run on a 3F would be the 15600-41010 Toyota oil filter.

It is available from any Toyota dealer in your neck of the woods.

Also, what neck of the woods are you in? Providing that information will allow the folks here to give you specificc information to assist you.

Thanks guys - I'm in Moldova, Eastern Europe, but I can order parts from the U.S. no problem. I appreciate the tips on suspension as a place to get started, and I'll order the filter that you recommended. Cheers!
