Hi everyone,

I’ve just returned from a trip to Tunisia, which was the first real test for my Land Cruiser FJ62 after installing Terrain Tamer parabolic leaf springs.

First of all, the springs are amazing. The comfort level is unbelievable, even with about 200kg (440 lbs) of load in the back. However, I’m struggling with the damping.
The rear end feels under-damped and keeps bouncing (the classic "double hop" effect) after hitting bumps.

Currently, I’m running Terrain Tamer TGS2576B shocks on the rear, but they don't seem to have enough rebound control to handle the reactivity of the parabolics.
I need something that can handle overland travel and keep the rear planted when loaded. Any advice or specific part numbers would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

I know you’re asking about shocks, but which parabolics are you running? TT medium duty or the rear fortified?

If you’re on the medium duty TT parabolics and carrying 200kg regularly, could this be more of a combo issue and not just a shock issue? With that kind of constant weight, aren’t the medium parabolics being worked pretty hard and reacting a bit too quickly, causing the double hop you’re feeling?

By no means am I an expert on suspension or parabolics, but I did do my fair share of reading before I purchased my first parabolic kit from Georg. Different shocks could help, especially something with much stronger rebound. Maybe the play is King Shocks 2.5 remote reservoirs paired with fortified parabolics?

Definitely following this thread. Good luck.
