Great write up. I am working on a 3FE swap into my 60 and was trying to figure out how to make this swap happen. Thanks for all of the pictures!

For anyone researching/reading this swap, I’ll add that the OEM clamps that are spot welded to the original tubing are reusable and much nicer than the cheapo replacements that come with the new line.
A 3/16 drill bit makes quick work of the spot weld, pry open the clamp, remove rubber grommet (it’s split), clean grunge off, re apply to new tubing. I hit it with some rattle can paint to cover up the raw metal drill out.

This is a bad problem to have. Sorry. Fix is to replace the line. I bought one from my LAPS 2 years ago. It was aluminum instead of the OEM steel.

It is all one assembly and requires removing the radiator support, or lifting the front of the body (clip) up 6" or so to fit the new line in on the top of the frame. Some owners have replaced it with custom cut flex line. This will reduce the cooling capacity of the line. Individual results
