My rear hatch wouldn’t open today. I pulled off plates and it looks like two rods are not connected where they should be. I found what appears to be a sheered pin I think. Anyone know what suppose to hold this together and if I can get a new pin or need an entirely new thing? The pin kind of goes back in and although it looks sheered maybe just force it through?

Included a pic I found online of what it’s supposed to look like but I can’t find one of the other side.

Hmmm seems like that pin is a rivet included on the lock cylinder.

So I wonder if I can find / buy a new rivet somewhere to avoid replacing the lock cylinder and needed a separate key?

Why not use a small metric bolt and nut and some threadlocker on the bolt? As long as you don't have clearance issues with the linkage, I don't see why it shouldn't work.

Yeah I may have to. The rivet is two stepped so not sure how it would work with play. Hmmm

Well here is the temporary solution until I can find a new rivet or better fitting screw.

Basically just forced a screw into the rear of the rivet. Officially the hackiest part of my truck.
