I can't wait to attend my nephews Air Force Academy graduation in May. We are doing a 10 day trip.

Awesome. That’s enough time to get your hemoglobin levels up there.

We stopped at the Safeway in Estes Park and picked up picnic supplies before heading into the NP.

After eating, we took Trail Ridge Rd/Highway 34 across the park. The other high altitude road was already closed for the year.

At some point, I took a wrong turn and we ended up at Bear Lake.

Wow, what a setting. Crystal clear water, lined with trees, and surrounded with mountains. Fresh, clean, refrigerator temp mountain air blowing through.

Back on 34, we stop at several overlooks. We are starting to really get up there.

We turn to leave and are almost blinded by the sight of this monstrosity...

Cool idea, in concept. In reality, it looks like a 40 got drunk and mated with a Hummer H2.

We keep heading up and, around the 10-11,000’ elevations, start to see some snow.

We top out at 11.8k, where there’s a viewing area.

I did a half-assed street view pic ( Google Maps ), but it doesn’t do the epic proportions of the place any justice.

It was getting late in the day and someone told us that it would be a seven hour journey home if we continued on 34, so we reversed course at this point and headed back to COS.

On our last day, we drove the ten whole minutes (no exaggeration) outside of downtown to the Cheyenne Cañon area to check out the ‘Seven Bridges Trail’. Probably my favorite area to explore so far.

This area is fuggin’ amazing. Almost as amazing is the fact that it is only ten minutes from the center of town. This trail is right where Gold Camp Road turns to gravel (but unfortunately we didn’t continue on to see the old mining tunnels).

It was postcard perfect when we hit the trail...

As you probably guessed, there are seven bridges & stream crossings on the trail.

This is a good time to add that there were ZERO mosquitoes.

Or humidity. At no point did I build up sweat on my body or clothing that didn’t evaporate within minutes.

Yeah bro!!!

The whole thing is #win-winaf for the Mosley family.

I think so. 3/4 of us are all in. Stephanie is still a little reluctant, but deep down wants to do it.

When you see me selling timeshares to our guest suite, you’ll know it’s on.

After another stop by the climbing gym (to close the deal with the kids) we met MawMaw & PawPaw at the Broadmoor Hotel to catch the shuttle to Seven Falls (not to be confused with Seven Bridges).

It’s a total tourist thing, but still pretty cool. And that’s the only way to check it out, so off we went.

Once there, the tram was taking forever, so me and Jr. Me decided to walk the mile to the falls.

I’m glad we did. We had time to soak in the beautiful falls trees exploding in the late afternoon sunlight.

Seven Falls is a 20 story waterfall made up of seven individual falls. You can hang out at the bottom, take the stairs or elevator to an overlook, or take even more stairs (224 to be exact) up to the top of the falls (my legs are still talking to me after doing that).

Dibs on time share. :). And a spot in the driveway for my 70 please.

That way flying from NY to CO will be simple for Southern Utard trips.
