Been scratching my head over coolant plumbing after de-smog. I got MAF headers, and their heat riser to apply to the underside of the stock intake manifold. I'm being told to supply the heat riser coolant from the heater valve on the firewall, which is supplied by (or returns to?) the steel 'T' coming out of the top surface of the head at the back of the engine. (BTW, I still have the rear passenger heater installed). My question is, with the main heater turned off (temp control on the dash), and the rear heater temp control turned off, both of these valves would be closed and no coolant would be flowing through the heat riser. Am I misunderstanding where the heat riser is supposed to be supplied its coolant?
I wish I had a better diagram of the coolant system.
