I agree w/owtideride....

I've seen 12 inch long , 2.5 " dia boat (trailer) rollers for like 12 bucks

2 of 'em cut to 2 inch and using 'nyloc' nuts rather than double nuts will not only R&R body mounts, but give ya about 3/4 inch bod lift. and no new bolts needed.

. . .between mount crush and maybe body sag, I can not get rocker cover off :-)
 
I would get boat rollers instead. Same material even sleeved in the center. Cut to fit in length....cost about 8 bucks.

Where were you before I dropped $150 on mounts? :confused:

They look like this. I only needed one since I was reusing the lower body mounts.
Cost about 8.50 at the marine supply store...

But cutting those sleeves must be a ton of fun.
 
I really doubt that it would ever be a problem. Unless you bought 12 of those and dint cut them before you installed them:D
Haha you just gave me an idea. Lets see SOA and 12in body lift, I bet I could fit a set of those 54in boggers! :hillbilly:
 
oh three cheers for lowertide,been lookin for somefin like that for a while,and i adjusted the valves on my hj61 a while back but couldnt do the last one because i couldnt get the rocker cover completly off,didnt realise it would be because of old body mounts,my last cruza i replaced the front mounts with universal body mounts i got from a rubber shop,had to trim them on a bandsaw,no biggie,but the bottom ones ended up thiner mounts,not by much but i could see if i did it again i could go at least half inch lift while retaining the old bolts.just checked ebay aust,plenty of them rollers on there.

kind of a thread jack, but not really...

Would worn out body mounts allow the body to rub the transfer case shifter and throw my rig from L4 into Neutral? I am trying to figure out why it is doing this AGAIN!!!

Last time is was just worn out detent springs.

Broken drivers side motor mount...

Pop the hood. Hold your foot on the brake and slowly let the clutch out while giving a tiny bit of gas. Have someone look at the mount when you do this...I am almost positive this is your problem...


They are very hard to tell if they are broken just by looking at them...So I would advise doing the above as it only takes a minute.

If you do find it broken, save your self more hassle and more money by removing it...cutting off the studs and drilling a hole all the way thru it. Install it with a grade 8 bolt and never have that problem again.
