Ok folks. My 85 fj60 has not had a working a/c unit as long as I’ve had it. It won’t keep a charge. Is there anyone local that can repair or replace a denso compressor? Or know where I can get a “new” one? I have looked on line (and will continue to) but the ones I’ve seen are out of my year group.

Sure it's the compressor? Leaks are often found at connections, or possibly in the lines. One good method to find them is to charge the system with nitrogen and listen for the leak, or use soapy water to find it, if you have the capability. If not, you may save money by having the system checked by a professional and then doing the repairs yourself.

I tryed to fill it with coolant and you can hear it discharge internally.

FWIW, the "expert"-I use the term loosely, now works for Merle's and I can get you a reasonable deal on A/C parts and we do carry Denso.
