I am local to the 45 and I went and looked at it. It was sad. There are some good parts, but the roof is as rusted as I've ever seen. Massive rust/flaking with open spaces. It sat at the beach forever. Floors are like powder and you can push your finger right through.
The original owner must have been an explorer or geologist, as it's heavily modified for desert use. Two huge fuel tanks, a big block 454 with a trans that raises the "hump" about 5 inches. In order to accommodate that, the seat was raised up a few inches on aluminum blocks and the floor most likely has been cut. Most odd is the dual AC system, one that is an aftermarket set up but traditional in style except for the triple oversized venting system in the cab. It is HUGE and actually plants on the front of the dash, as it won't fit under completely. The second is an entire system under the front seat, which has another venting system under the bench which blows forward. This may be partially responsible for the ruined floors, as it may have leaked. It's all really odd, but the guy must have hated being hot. There is also a huge radiator and no lights in the front, and unfortunately the body has been cut to accommodate this. It's as if the previous owner was obsessed with cold air.
Upholstery is tuck and roll, lots and lots of holes and custom switches in the dash with home made aluminum panels. There is also a spot light in the roof. Overall, it's an amazing thing to look at, but a lost cause for restoration due to the rust killing it. (unless you are amazing with metal and have the time/energy). Rear fenders are cut, which adds to the challenges on the body.
I'm about an hour away and if I can help someone, let me know. I love these and would love to own it, but way, way too much work on this one. If you needed some odd parts however or wanted the car purchased, I'll do what I can to help. I don't want to see it die, so anything I could do to help preserve all or part of it, I'll try to help. I'm a busy person, so I can't spend forever on it, but if you are interested, I could answer questions you might have at a minimum.
