Ok so few days ago i pulled the dash out of my 1972 fj45 to replace the speedo cable peice of cake, but after trying to reconnect the neg side of battery i had a short worked out old radio was shorting somewhere, after that headlights stopped working shook a few wires and sorted that out, my issue now is the amp meter in the dash goes from 0 at idle to +30 when accelerating was working fine before pulling dash was wondering if anyone knew the cause of this?
On further inspection there is a white cable with black stripe going from a bolt holding the voltage regulator to passenger side inner guard to a plug on the back of the alternator, cable has been melted could be part of issue?
