FJ45 Tail Light Assembly

Can anyone tell me if the FJ40/FJ45 Tail Light Assemblies being sold on E-bay for later model FJ's would fit the openings on my 1966 FJ45? Thanks, Rick

My 78 fj45 has the three bulb style and the hole is approx. 8 1/4"x2 1/2". I think they are longer than the hole you have. I took this measurement off a spare taillight housing that I have.

No they will not fit. Some people are modifying the later model light pots to fit, and then using vintage or repro'd lenses.

Ok, I thought they were a different size. Tony, where can I get the repro lenses, I don't think I have ever seen them. Do they come with the rubber seal too? Thanks, Rick

I can't remember who was doing the early taillight lenses for the LWB pickup. IIRC, it was one of our Canadian mud members up in BC.....

Foxfab here on mud had them made, they are an awsome repo. contact him he might have some left. There is no one currently making the rubber seal. I made my own out of cork gasket material, and so far they are working great.

I made my own seals out of cut-down later model gaskets.
