FJ45 SWB Suspension same as FJ40?

Yea, the rears are longer than 40 springs. I would try Alcan springs out in Grand Junction, they can build them from scratch. They're pretty spendy since the 4wd craze hit'em hard, and I imagine that they may actually be doing big truck work these days with the oil patch going strong. Let me know if you need measurements I've got a spare pair in the garage.

Mark,

I see you updated one of those posts stating you went with Alcan. Was this for your SWB as well? You don't have to answer, but do you remember your approx lift height ordered, and approximate year/month? If so - All I have to do is give them the customer info and they can spit out another set!

Just curious, as all of those dimensions and such I don't have (springs are on the truck and hard to measure).

Thanks man,

Dallas,

Not sure if Mark's SWB is lifted. If not and his Alcans are on his LWB then his rears will be different length than yours, different than a 40 too.

I used Mike Gallioni (sp?) name when I ordered my Alcans. I think he is 65-fj45. I went with 4-inch. Wasn't an easy fit but eventually got them on. The front eye hole diameter was a little off. Search a post from Fogblanket (or was it Foxfab?) on this and see if you can get some clarification. I ended up using 60 bushings all around except the fronts were 40s.

Bull had told me to go 2.5 OME with extended shackles and I think that might have been a smoother installation(??). As far as ride difference, couldn't tell ya. haven't felt either (yet).

About $980 shipped to San Diego.

Good luck.

Dallas, YEARS ago when I first got on the bbs, someone asked me about the difference between the swb and lwb rear springs. Since I own one of each, I just walked out to the backyard and measured spring hanger to shackle hanger. As I recall, the swb was ONE QUARTER INCH shorter than the lwb. IOW, you should be fine with abecker's specs, which are the same as mine, which are the same as Mike Galloni's.
