I’ve seen worse and can say I’m happy with the results. Again something I can do over if my skills ever progress or the work fails. With it all installed the vintage air is all hidden to give it an oem feel.
And finally have some color going on the bed, liner was sprayed which means I need to get everything done in the back before the bed goes on.
Also had this fun surprise. Out of nowhere the blade on my shop fan tore off and sounded like a shotgun went off. Took me a minute to figure what happened, and of course right with the heat started picking back up.
With the bed getting closer to being finished it was time to jump on the wiring since the battery was back there. It also meant one step closer to hearing the truck finally run.
I decided to run it as sub systems vs trying to merge into one harness. So the LS would run independently, vintage air/ independently and chassis wiring independently. With so much on the passenger side all my wiring is going on the drivers so the bib comes down to route what’s need to the right.
Next was taking a 1976 fj40 harness and stripping everything I didn’t need out of it like blower motor, emissions, coil, alternator and a few other wires out. Then re routing everything that went out the right side to go out the left, with that done it will go into the truck so I can route and extend what’s needed.
Next was running all my battery cables. I needed to add lugs incase I need to jump the truck or have a battery tender on it. Also on the other side is a battery cut off, I wasn’t able to find a fuse or circuit breaker that could work for the loads of a winch or starter so the cutoff is there just incase the main battery cable shorts anywhere between the battery to the engine bay. It was also double sleeve just incase it found something that tired to rub through. Also got the exhaust back from cerakote and installed it only to realize it hit one of the braces for the battery box so I’ll need to rework that but for now I just cut it off.
