the raffle at this event is a little different than most.
when i started this event i wanted to combine my birthday party with something i like. wheeling and cruisers. so the idea for the "45 run" was born. the raffle just kinda happened and has grown every year since. i've beento a lot of events and have won a fair amount of loot but it always bugged me to see some people win over and over again while others walked away empty handed. so i came up with the following rules for my raffle:
i do not sell tickets.
everybody who shows up with a 4wd vehicle gets one ticket.
everybody wins cause everybody gets one ticket and there are always more than enough prizes to go around.
once everybody has won a prize, all the tickets go back in the hat and we go thru them again until there are no prizes left.
the attendees who bring a 45 get special tickets and the main raffle prizes get used towards those tickets.
this ensures that everybody has a great experience at the event and at the raffle. i also try to have stuff on hand for the kiddos. i donate a lot of stuff personally and from my business but without the help of all the sponsors i could never make this raffle happen. so once again, A BIG THANKS TO ALL THE EVENT SPONSORS!!!!!!
last but not least, i do put together a "cash raffle" every year. each attendee can purchase up to 5 tickets at $10 each. after everybody has bought the tickets they all go in a hat and we draw one number. winner takes all. i think last year it was up to $480. not shabby.
good luck to everybody. at least you know you'll win something!
