My 1965 LWB FJ45 cab is on EBAY. I found a complete running truck that doesn't need a new cab. I originally got this cab as I thought I was buying a SWB FJ45 removeable top with a mediocre cab. The seller forgot to mention that the truck was rolled and poorly repaired so I started looking again. I got lucky with my latest find but now I need the space.

Here is the link if you are interested:

I wanted it gone for sure so I opted to use Ebay for the contract involved with a bid. I was afraid that selling it through IH8MUD might end with me storing this for months and months. Needs to be gone ASAP.

Questions to riddlespokane@comcast.net

I have a ton of photos also.

thanks

1987 fj40

take off

should probably post as a new thread int he tech section, but here is your answer....
inside of hte cab, top corner where the doors meet the windshield, unscrw the little brackets from the windshield. Outside, top edge of the windshield, remove the bolts accross the top. inside the back of hte truck all along the lip wher ethe hardtop meets the tub, 10mm head bolts. take the back doors off. Now get a couple freinds, lift and take it off.

That at least is how you remove a 73, I suspect a 78 is the same.

You can also take it down in peices.... the white fiberglass top comes off with 10mm wrench, the bolts are all up by the headliner edge, you can feel for them. Then take the sides off.

always good to go to Specter off-road (sor.com), thy have great exploded diagrams in their catalog that will help you see what you are dealing with.
