I have got most of the parts for my 45 rounded up. The frame I purchased had a flat bed mounted on it and the previous owner removed all the mounts that are attached the frame with rivets to mount the bed on. So I am in search of the two tall mounts directly behind the cab and the rest of them for mounting the bed. Any info would be great!!

I spoke with him a couple of hours ago. He is gonna hook me up with a set! Hopefully he will post up his progress.

Yes, it was good to speak to you again today Cody. I'll be making close copies of my 78' mounts shown here on the left side of these pics, close to the cab. It's a little hard to see but mine has a rivet on each side through the top of the frame rail - does your frame have holes where your brackets were originally mounted??

What year is your frame Mike? Just curious because your bracket is slightly different than mine is where it welds to the outside of the frame. I'm sure your mounting point is the same (where the bolt actually is located in height and from the center of the chassis) because I have measurements from 1963 to 1980 chassis and the only difference is the second set of mounts from the front. They change in width but not for and aft. The rest of the 10 mounts are the same throughout the 45's production - as far as I have been able to confirm anyway. The rear three sets (behind the axle) never change after 63 (maybe before, but I have no evidence). The front set changes bracket design but not location - I've seen three now.

Hey Cody,

I just re-read your first post and realized you were looking for all the mounts. I was hungup on the first set and wasn't thinking about the others when we spoke before. Do you need them all?:

Front set of tall ones
second set of short ones
third and fourth set of side mounted (3+4 are the same)

I have pictures in my photo albums in my profile

the rear most mount is just a hole through the rear crossmember so I imagin you won't need that one.

I have the 3rd set that was removed from my truck that I can let you have and I can make whatever you need and keep the price reasonable.

Sorry for the confusion,
Let me know
Kevin

Hey Kevin,
I believe the frame is a 1964 but coud be a 65. I'm thinking a 64 or 65 would be the same either way.

Yeah, they weld to the outside of the frame and rivet to the top of the frame. They have the one round hole in the side vs. yours that look more open. There is a slight fold or bend where the side of the mount overlaps the frame. This feature looks to keep the mount square, front to aft, since the right and left frame rails are not parallel in this area.

Mine has the remnants of the rivets left on top of the frame rail it looks as if someone took a torch a blew the heads off of the rivet.

Yes sir I would like all of them! The rear cross member one I will not need. Keep In Touch!

Thanks

Cody

Ok, I understand you have a bit of a frankencruiser with different model years. Can you measure the center to center distance between the second set of mounts on your bed? As I mentioned above, I have seen two different widths between the second set of mounts. If you give me that dimension I can make sure the mounts I make will fit your bed.

Actually, while you are there with a tape you may as well give me the measurements for all five sets of mounts. Just to be perfectly clear - measure from left side to right side across the bed and from center to center of the mounting bolt holes

That will give me more info to add to my collection as well as ensure your parts are good to go.

Ok. This is starting from the tall mounts first then in order to the back.

1st 32 1/2
2nd 35
3rd 44
4th 46
5th 48

Let me know if this sounds right. My bed is sitting on the frame and I dont have the room to remove it from there. My pregnant wife helped me measure! Bless her heart!

Thanks

Cody

Okay Cody,

I drew up the mounting brackets in CAD and punched them out.
P1010029.webp
The easy ones first - I made them identical to the ones I removed from my frame (to mount my sliders)

Just need a weld

Then on to the second mounts - I didn't put the rivet holes in because the chances my holes would match yours after bending would be pretty slim.

And lastly the first mounts - I didn't put the rivet holes in this one either. I just have to weld them but first, like you, I have to slide my bed back to check if they look right. But my wife isn't preggo

No problem, its what I do :D

Hey Kevin,
What are you using between the bed and the frame?
Poly bushings?

I haven't actually bolted mine down but I was going to look at poly 40 body mounts and cut as needed or just use conveyor belt like Toyota did. The stuff that came off my bed was about 1/2" thick rubber belt.

I have some more pics of the frame stands I made above compared to my originals I'll post up later.

Kevin
