FJ45 2H swap: which motor/gearbox mounts?

Now we can have a look inside the chassis rail.
Front of the vehicle to the left of the pic, passenger's side: not easy to see because of the tubes, but, with the help of the light, I could see no holes BEHIND the cross member!

So, let's have a look at the driver's side.
Now the front of the vehicle is to the right of the pic: no holes BEHIND the cross member, here too. However, one can see two IN FRONT of it (red circles, 2nd and 3rd pics). Do they are for the HJ47/2H brackets who "sit about 1.5" further forward than the FJ45 brackets" as you said? 🤔

No.. the holes I'm referring to are inside the chassis rail... here's an FJ45 chassis (right handside, front of the vehicle is to the left of the pic).. the holes in red are FJ45 mounting points.. HJ47 brackets have been fitted to this chassis and sit about 1.5" further forward than the FJ45 brackets. Your chassis shuold have two sets of four holes each side to accomodate both FJ45 and HJ47 brackets.

Hi mate, can the pictures I posted tell us about HJ47/2H predrilling on my 1984 FJ45 chassis?

It certainly looks like you have the two sets of holes.. with the correct HJ47 "L" Brackets and using your existing cross member you should be all good to slip a 2H/H41 or H55F combo in.

Thank you for your help, that's Mud at its best! :)

Now let's get back to the parts hunt!
 Demetrios

Great little trip! 3000klms over 10 days throughout South Australia. The 2H didnt miss a beat (it never does!)

What a formidable and beautiful trip and place (even the emus were there), 🇦🇺 at her best!
Good map too, to track the trip...and YES, an awesome 47: glad that you've been there and "you signed that poster with your own Troopy" as @sodafeld1 said!...

Hi mates, following suggestions and hunting for parts!

In respect to the front mounting I found the FRONT RH mount only at Megazip (NLA at Amayama, Partsouq etc).
The problem is that they don't have any more the P/S version of it (12311-68020) and they can only offer the ("without P/S version"??) 12311-68010.
Does this part is ok for my 2H swap (using the 40-Series factory P/S setup)?

Check out the images here.. specifically the little power steering bracket made by Bruce Fricke to add P/S to the non P/S bracket.

The megazip link you sent seems to be for late 60 mounts though..

Not only late 60 parts, just press the button at:
12311-68020
Bracket, Engine Mounting, Front No.1 Rh
ENGINE MOUNTING, FRONT NO.1 RH
[08.1980 - 11.1984] 2H..HJ60 W/POWER STEERING

The part in question is a early 60 part, I think:
12311-68010
Bracket, Engine Mounting, Front No.1 Rh
ENGINE MOUNTING, FRONT NO.1 RH
[08.1980 - 11.1984] 2H..HJ60

Checked the "little power steering bracket made by B. Fricke, to add P/S to the non P/S bracket", it's great!
Is it available in Australia, or I have to custom make it?
If I will use this Fricke bracket, can the above mentioned early 60 part (No P/S version 12311-68010) do the job?

On the other hand, with the right early 60 mount (P/S version, 12311-68020) do I still need this Fricke bracket?
I can find this part in Europe...

Every version of the right hand side 60 series engine mount arms had the power steering bracket built in. There are no HJ60s without power steering. Provided the mount is definitely early it will work in your FJ45 to mount the P/S pump. 12311-68020 appears to be the mount seen in the photo below. This will work.

Keep in mind that when you use P/S in an FJ45/HJ47 the bottom radiator outlet fouls against the pump and will require modification see these two images: HJ47 Power Steering Radiator Outlet Modification - https://photos.app.goo.gl/Ybz4mtatYB9S22dU8

Sorry one more thing.. you will need the matching P/S pump as there's two versions.. You need the "6 bolt" pump..

For the 12311-68020 is clear: Toyota says is the mount "with P/S".
Does it goes the same for the 12311-68010, which has not the Toyota designation "with P/S"?
Both are early HJ60 parts, the problem is that only the latter is available:

I am not entirely familiar with 12311-68010... it does appear to be the part below (pretty much standard HJ47 bracket) and in an HJ60 would additionally feature the bracket I've highlighted in red. I have never seen this additional bracket in Australia - it may exist, I've just not seen it on the 30-40 HJ60s I've looked at. If you can't additionally source this part you'd have to fabricate a "Fricke Bracket" yourself as discussed above.

Alternatively I have seen people run the P/S pump on the 2H where the A/C compressor normally goes, this would also require fabrication effort.

As a man, I dont run power steering in my HJ47.
