cuz all the cool kids have one :bounce2::grinpimp::bounce2:
This truck is really solid - it's got the rust in the back that I showed in the other thread, and I think it need u-joints on the front driveshaft. And a little carb tuning. I think the 2F in there had at least the top end rebuilt when they put it in - looking down the oil fill, it's spotless. The seller said the previous owner had the swap done by Predator - I'm going to stop by there sometime and see if they have any record of what was done to that engine when they put it in.

Anybody have a trailer I could borrow to pick it up next weekend!?

Well....you got her home yet?;)

Nope, the brakes are a little dodgy, and I want to make sure the carb is set up right (brand new, and hardly run). I want to bring it home on a trailer so I can take my time making sure everything is kosher. Hopefully next weekend if I can scare up a trailer.

Oh yea - and those seats have to go. To high - my knees are in the steering wheel, and I have to be bow-legged to reach first gear!

So you are getting it...I don't have a trailer that will accommodate the FJ, but I will help if you need it.:D

I got the trailer Eric, and it is already out here, but you would have to bring it back! It's had a 40 or forty on it.
Or I could just pull if for ya with my truck.
Let me know.

I was headed up towards the Springs this afternoon and I saw you headed south, I figured you were headed down to check it out.

BTW, next Saturday would be much better than Sunday. But could swing it Sunday afternoon.

1966ish? Looks straight, great find!!

Don't get to excited about selling me 40 series stuff now - that was my rear-bumper money (and then some)!

Hey Don - that sounds great! Either me borrowing your trailer, or if you could pull it up for me - it's probably a little on the heavy side for the 80 with the trailer. Saturday works fine. I'll give you a call tonight.

Looks like we might get to do a 40's (cool kids) only run....:D

when i joined the only other 40's that where regulars where Darryl and Vic,

with Rising sun basically being an Cool Kid 80 series club, im glad to see the old school back in action..

Unfortunatly with an FJ40 comes issues like, no Leg room, smelly Carburetors, horrible ride quality, bad brakes, lots of old seals that let cold air in, and even worse gas millage. But when its a nice summer day, and the top is off, there is nothing quite like it!

Another '40 Pilot!!!

Congratulations Eric! Now you have graduated to a Classic Cruiser! And what Trevor said is all true too. What Chuck said, well what do you expect from a frustrated '60 pilot??? Take a road trip in a '40, and every time you stop for fuel, you have people come up and tell you their story. When you stop, you usually take a little more time to wonder around and stretch you legs and such. Re-read what Trevor said. And everything Rui has said.
