found a console for somekinda chevy truck(it fit perfect) mounted the cd in a marine pod to the console. also there are 2 marine speakers mounted up under the dash, works well for my needs.

i really like that idea, if you could send me some pics of how you put it in, and how the cd player is. im sure i could find a console from a chevy fairly easily, if i can figure out how it looks

I'll shoot some pics this weekend. Console is an aftermarket deal, found it by accident at a 4x4 shop. Made a bracket for the pod. I can undo the plugs and pop the whole deal out. And when the top is off......its all waterproof. console is not even bolted down........it just stays put........but i don't wheel it.

We have put together a kit that allows you to easily mount the stereo in the glove-box of an FJ40. In addition, we offer pre-wrapped, custom cut speaker wire and an antenna that will bolt directly into the factory holes (if they are there). Basically, you add the deck and speakers and we add the rest. Please check out www.genesis4x4.com. Another slick way to mount speakers is to turn 6x9 boxes on end and bolt the box to the tub rail (hard-top bolts to this) and through the bottom of the well at the rear of the vehicle. Very hard to remove in any sort of quick way. Thanks
