I was converting Petrol FJ40 gearbox into Diesel BJ40/42version. On top of the input shaft there is a front bearing retainer problem.
I think it is interesting to see the visual differences between FJ/BJ versions. To the “knowledge” library

Yep the diesel tranny has a longer fine spline input shaft and deeper bellhousing. I think it was just to keep the transmission in the stock location when switching from 6cylinder gas to the shorter 4 cylinder diesel ,the diesel needed the longer input shaft.. So longer bearing retainer. To retain stock transmission location when using the diesel 😀
