The guys came back Friday after being up to the North tip of Vancouver Island, they took my BJ60 and went for a tour. They fished most lakes they came across and rivers, they mentioned the lakes and rivers were the most spectacular that they had ever seen.
About two hours hours north they had called with fuel problems with my BJ, I gave them a solution that would get them home. Small jug wedged under the hood filled with diesel and run the fuel line from the injection pump direct.
It was a long 3 hours of stopping and refilling the small container, Arron the owner of the FJ40 was cavered in diesel from cracking the drain on my main fuel tank to get the fuel needed.
They are true troopers and went to very remote areas that most people who are lifers on the island have never seen.
While camping I guess they got some strange looks as they ropped thier food high up in a tree, I guess were they come from a bear will rip your vehicle open to get at the goodies. The black bears on the island while fearless have not to my knowledge peeled a vehicle open for food.
Off they went to catch a ferry and further journey North into BC for some more fishing and exploring.
They were great guys and never once made any mention of the lateness of the project and only said it will get done when its done. We worked most days 12 hrs and learned a great deal, we should cut a fair bit of time of the next install.
All in all the engine performed exellent and the turbo is top notch in installation and performance tTe long range did not get installed and I would never try to design and build another one on short notice.
