So a little new to this whole fj60 thing, where is the best place to buy new axle parts ( is there a good web site like trailgear ) and is there such thing as a HP front 3rd for these trucks.

I have a couple of 70 axles ... some of the stuff is the same depending what you need...

as for websites depends what you want... trail gear has some landcruiser stuff... (although there are debates about quality)

Marlin crawler is good stuff too (so I hear anyway)

Kurt at cruiser outfitters is good (I've gotten stuff from him before including new gear)

Also John at Radd cruisers is local (In duncan) and often has things in stock

depends what you are lookin for..
trail gears knuckle rebuild kits are not the greatest...
as for the new dirty 30s (inner axles) seem like a good price but havent heard anyone running them.... you can get the trail gear stuff local now through West shore spring and offroad..

as for longfields you can still get them through NSOR northshore offroad in van...

HP thirds aren't to common, they were never stock. Only in an 80 but its a smaller ring gear and they still strip when abused. Why do you want one?

I can supply Trail Gear as well, but I generally DO NOT recommend it for a number of reasons, quality of much it being the main one.

I have about $100K in inventory at any given time, and have access to almost anything that is currently available in the market.

Well Like i said before, i am gather all my parts to swap in FJ60 axles under my 95 land rover disco. But the front axle in the disco is HP to clear the steering rod.
But I am thinking now that if I go with a different steering site up like toyota hightsteer then I can stay with the low pinion.

all the steering links on a 60 are on the front of the axle...guess it depends on where your steering box is.

there's also the 4x4 labs high steer, it puts some of the bits behind the axle, and clears the low pin diffs.

dirty 30's are doing fine in my truck. 35's and welded up front. go ahead floor it!!! fully cranked!!!!

But YES!! trail gear stuff is made in china and is cheap in quality. but i think the 30's are sweet

pic of the 4x4 labs arms on my axle....

Or... go with r/h drive high steer flipped to the back side of the axle running above the low pinion third... This would allow you to run the stock steering box which I assume hooks up on the back side of the axle. and it'd keep your tie rod out of harms way on the back side of the axle. Post some pics of the current set up.

Hmmm... Looks like the tie rod might interfere with the pan hard link. You may have to go 4x4 labs steering to get the tie rod on the back side. I thought the drag link from the steering box might be on the back as well but see its not.

Isn't the drag link in front? It goes from the steering box arm to the knuckle. The tie rod goes from knuckle to knuckle.

80 series parts would work (wider than 60 series), or you could consider a high pinion 70 series HD front end (narrower than 60 series).

My understanding is that most LR goes who go to LC axles are looking for 80 series parts.

Yes you are right my bad...:o

And yes lots LR owners to the the LC80 axle swap. But thats so much more money. I found a set of 80 axle on the mainland for 1600 with locking diffs.
But I got both my f/r 60 axle for 100 bucks . So I figure it would be cheaper to build those up.

But feel free to prove me wrong on those 80 for price.
