FJ-cruiser wheels on my 86-runner

i know the bolt patterns are both 6 on 5.5 (6 on 139mm = 6 on 5.47).
the FJ wheels are 4.5 backspacing where the runner likes 2.5.
i think if the wheels will clear the hubs on the runner everything else would be fine
(if running spacers).

has anyone done this?
i have found a deal on some FJ wheels (17s) but i don't want to make a move until
i'm sure they will fit.

No way to be sure without trying them on. Factory wheels on a 86 with ifs should have 4.5" backspacing. I believe the steel fjc wheels are 17" in diameter and 7.5" wide (17x7.5) with 4.5 inch backspacing which would make them a good fit. However I think The 8" wide fjc alloys have 4.75" backspacing which could require spacers which I would not do. I would go for the black steel, better fit and look way better than the bling alloys.
